What You'll Need for an MPI Glass Claim
Before contacting us or completing the form, please have the following information available:
- Driver's licence document number of the registered vehicle owner (not the driver's licence number — see the example above)
- Date or approximate time the damage occurred
- Vehicle licence plate number
- Autopac policy number and customer number
- Details of any additional insurance coverage
- Police report number, if the damage resulted from vandalism
Was Your Glass Damaged by Vandalism?
If the damage occurred in Winnipeg, you will also need to file a report with the Winnipeg Police Service. For vandalism outside Winnipeg, contact the local police or RCMP detachment nearest to where the incident occurred.

Glass Claims That Must Be Reported Directly to MPI
Some glass claims cannot be processed through the electronic glass claim system and must be reported to Manitoba Public Insurance directly. These include:
- Vehicles insured under MPI Rental Vehicle Insurance
- Seven-day plate transfers to newly acquired vehicles
- Lay-up policies without a licence plate
- Vehicles operating under temporary permits
- Vehicles with dealer or repairer plates
- Repairs paid for before the claim was reported, where MPI has agreed to reimburse the policyholder
- Motorcycles, mopeds and mobility vehicles
- Off-road vehicles
- Tractors and trailers
