The Jim Gauthier story began over 57 years ago with Jim Gauthier starting work at Russell Motors. The affiliation continued when in 1959 Jim and his father Woodrow Gauthier opened Kustom Auto Sales in Transcona as a sub-dealership to Boulton Motors which later they became a Studebaker franchise on their own. In 1967 Jim started as a sales person at Transcona AMC quickly rising to General Manager. In 1972 bought Pan-Am Motors, selling it in 1977 while acquiring Transcona Dodge which he owned until 1980, when Jim Gauthier bought out Ed Vicker Community Chev Olds at 1290 Main Street, which became Jim Gauthier Chev Olds Cadillac "Home of The Big Guy".
